M21 Tactical CBRN Respirator with DIRIN 230 Filter

The M21 is a next-generation tactical CBRN respirator developed to meet the operational demands of modern military, law enforcement, and specialist response units operating in chemically, biologically, radiologically, and nuclear-threat environments.

Introduced in 2023 and developed in collaboration with Italian military CBRN specialists, the M21 has been approved by the Italian Ministry of Defence and meets the relevant criteria of NATO AEP-73, delivering advanced protection without compromising mobility or situational awareness.

Designed for Tactical CBRN Operations

From the outset, the M21 was engineered for the next-generation end user. As a result, its compact profile integrates seamlessly with modern helmets, CBRN protective suits, and weapon systems. Furthermore, the side-mounted filter connection can be configured on either the left or right, ensuring the respirator does not obstruct the field of view during tactical movement or weapon handling.

Advanced Protection and Performance

The M21 tactical CBRN respirator delivers high protection factors while reducing operator fatigue during prolonged wear.

Key protection features include

  • Advanced CBRN protection in accordance with STANAG 2352

  • Certified to EN 136-1998 Class 3

  • Tested for operational use from –40°C to +70°C

  • DPI auto-shut-off valve preventing air ingress during filter changes

  • Available in three sizes – S, M, L to support full facial demographic coverage

Consequently, the M21 provides reliable respiratory protection in extreme environments without sacrificing comfort or endurance.

Superior Comfort and Situational Awareness

In addition, the M21 incorporates an advanced airflow system that significantly lowers breathing resistance and reduces visor misting. At the same time, the inner mask minimises CO₂ re-breathing, helping to reduce fatigue during extended operations.

The panoramic visor provides:

  • Optical Class 1 clarity

  • Distortion-free wide field of vision

  • Ballistic and impact resistance

  • Scratch and chemical-agent resistant coatings

This combination ensures operators retain situational awareness, visual acuity, and confidence throughout high-risk deployments.

Modular Accessories and Configuration Options

Finally, the M21 tactical CBRN respirator supports a comprehensive range of accessories, allowing agencies to tailor the system to mission requirements.

Available options include

  • Clear, mirrored, sunlight, blue-blocker, breach, and laser visor outserts

  • Hydration system compatible with CamelBak

  • Integrated microphone and headset connection cables

  • 3D textile or EPDM rubber harness options

  • Tactical carry bags and vision correction systems

This modular approach ensures the M21 functions as a scalable tactical respirator, not just a standalone gas mask.
